Last weekend I missed the All You Can Eat Crab Feast at the St. Philips Episcopal Church due to a wedding. This week, I’m missing the Rotary Clubs Crab Feast happening this Friday, August 6th from 5-8pm at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, MD due to a welcome home party for our friend in the air force. Seriously friends, stop impeding my efforts to enjoy all you can eat crabs!

Rotary Club of Annapolis Crab Feast

Anyhow, if you are lucky enough to be able to go, know that your hard earned money will be donated to local charities. Last year’s crab feast donated $70,000 directly to local charities and non-profit groups. More than $1 million has been awarded since the first Annapolis Rotary Club Crab Feast in 1946. That’s impressive!

The feast includes all you can eat and drink, including large male crabs – the big ones – plus Maryland vegetable crab soup, sweet Maryland corn on the cob, beef barbecue sandwiches, all-American hot dogs, draft beer and assorted sodas and water. Also, a bake sale and cake raffle will finish your feast with sweetness.

Did I mention this is the 65th Anniversary of the Crab Feast? This all-you-can-eat-and-drink extravagance is the world’s largest crab feast and a major fundraiser for local community and cultural organizations.

So again dear readers, if you go, tell me how it is! One of these days I’ll make an all you can eat crab feast…

All You Can Eat Crab Feast

While perusing my What’s Up Annapolis events for the weekend, I stumbled upon the All-You-Can-Eat-Crab-Feast happening this weekend at the St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Annapolis. How had I missed this? I immediately began to jump for joy until I saw the date it was happening this weekend.

Saturday, July 31st.

That would be great and all…except I’m already booked that day with a wedding and therefore…can’t make it. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’m totally stoked for the wedding. Good friends, good food, good wine and music, what’s not to like? But still…all you can eat! It’s a hard thing to pass up.

Yummy Yummy Crabs in My Tummy

It sounds like a good time; an annual tradition on the grounds of the church’s Family Life Center, they will be serving Maryland Eastern Shore crabs, steamed on the premises, as well as homemade crab soup, coleslaw,  hot dogs, hamburgers and all the fixings. They’re even going to have live music provided by The Harmonic Fifth.

All proceeds from the event will be used to fund the congregation’s community outreach and family support programs. For more information on the event, check out the church’s website.

Since I’ll have to miss this feast this year, if you end up going, let this reviewer know how it was!
